The venue has live music 2-3 nights per week, and books one band per night, which plays 2-3 sets.
For a 9:30-10:00 start time, the venue mandates that the band show up at 7:30 for what is referred to as "sound check." The space is small, and really only needs microphones for singers. The amps are somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 years old. The speakers are blown out and distorted. Drummers are not allowed to tune or adjust the drums. There is a piano that is not in tune, and has a SM-58 laying inside of it. There is a B3 organ that does not work. And, despite showing up two-hours for sound check, we were yelled at for playing too loud and not balanced almost as soon as we started.
Pay is dependent upon draw. It's a bringer.
