Reviews from musicians

Feels like a lounge from 1965, but a brand new one, not one built in 1965 and then aged for fifty years. Pleasant staff, easy parking in the area after 8PM since there's not much competition. Baby grand piano is nice, but in the way if you're not using it, so band sets up in front of the piano, on the floor (there's no stage).

I'm not sure what the previous reviewer has been smoking but they should pass it around to all readers here. Vitos is an ok place, decent bar, the food is good, it has a piano but musicians are not getting $150/ea as it read on the review sidebar. Not even close. Like most downtown venues parking is extremely limited.

Emails are answered fairly prompt, the man in charge of booking is wonderfully professional. The atmosphere of Vito's is exactly what you want for an Italian/lounge vibe. The sound isn't impressive but it works considering people are there to have dinner & drinks foremost. The piano is kept in tune, there is a tiny dressing room, and the customers tip very well. The pay is great and negotiable for an increase if you can provide a consistent draw - the checks are always ready and they're sincerely grateful to the talent. Speaking of which, every single act that performs at Vito's is professional so they have excellent taste and standards when it comes to hiring musicians. The bar/menu discount is fantastic as well.
**Considering this is not a 'forum' website - I do have to say in regards to the other review (thebellman) - Um, yes, I absolutely stand by my review & have zero motive to steer musicians otherwise and I seriously doubt your professionalism when you've reviewed almost every venue in town with feedback to the tune of 'bad food' or 'no parking' and no actual details of your experiences PLAYING them. - oh and there's PLENTY of free parking (after 8pm) by Vito's considering musicians go on at 9pm and nothing else with a draw is open near there.
Not to mention, if Vito's was so bad, then why do so many good musicians play there on a weekly basis...dare I ask...
