Pay to Play DUMP!!!!!
Don't waste your time with this place. You can bring in a ton of friends who will drink up thousands in booze and still end up paying the nut at the end of the night. Hose job. Bands with a real following don't bother with this place, so what they get are the new garage bands that just want a stage to play on and don't think about the details. The venue makes money of their draw, the band pays money, and if they have any sense at all they never come back.

First, you have to pay to play here - okay, fine... except for the caveat that you will have one of two sound guys and one of them is the most cantankerous, rude, and condescending person I've ever had the misfortune of working with in town. The other, will make magic happen.
It's the tiniest of venues (jewelbox theater) and the place is literally falling apart but it's also slightly charming. I've seen some great shows here and have done some where the lack of monitors is frustrating but you can wing it given the size of the space. There's no real carryover noise from the adjacent bar or the grotto down below. Backstage is decent enough - too much gear and you'll find yourself a bit cramped. Parking is impossible downtown and loading in is a huge pain so plan ahead.
