Sound is not good for electronic/industrial bands. Also certain shows booked should always be specifically agreed upon band order and set times because this could change when you get there, which is annoying. The rock/folk/indie acts I have seen there sound fine.

Neumo's is a venue that's only comfortable if you know you have a decent enough draw...otherwise you may find yourself playing to a large empty room. They're pretty strict on their start times, security and as far as payout goes...it's what you'd expect. People generally don't show up to catch a show until AFTER the second band on the bill - so if you're the opening act, don't expect much cash and don't expect Neumo's to be entirely grateful when they had to wait until about 11pm to start making noticeable sales at the bar. I have had issues with sound there (feedback & low-ends just way too high) but they do their best and make the effort to fix those problems as they occur at least. There an ample back (or should I say UNDER) stage area with large dressing rooms for multiple bands - the people-traffic isn't ideal (the bar, stage & entrance are so close to each other so there's a lot of people jams happening) - They also have a section offstage for additional equipment/cases behind a barricade but I wouldn't recommend leaving valuables there. It's a fun place to play if you're on a great bill, otherwise it can be intimidating with a standoffish vibe. The variety of the acts booked here are vastly different but it's more focused on acts with big draws than specialty drinks so don't rely on a built-in audience. Load-in is fine but they won't let you stay in those spaces (yet they'll reserve it for large groups of spectators oddly) - on a weekend, parking is IMPOSSIBLE. You get like, 2 drink tickets, they will take % for sound & door. They also book up quickly.
