Nice place. Kinda crummy but charming. Good sound. Don't get carried away and let all your friends in because it will come out of your pay.

Michelle Smith books a lot of bands here and is a person of much integrity, totally solid and kind. Playing four band bills is a bummer here as the room capacity is only about 100, and there's just a lot of stress in all the changeovers, but if you have a good draw they probably won't demand it be a four band bill. Pay is not amazing here, but the cover is usually pretty low, too. The upstairs green room area is nice. Sound is usually good, but definitely have had some bad nights here.

All the strict rules posted on their website for musicians that have already booked with them go right out the window. They ask for a load-in time of 7:30, doors open at 8pm, show at 9pm and NO SOUND CHECK (only a line check) - and yet they want to take 100.00 off the top to pay the door & sound guy(!?)
I arrived early to the venue and the stage wasn't even put together for some reason. The sound guy was actually rather nice but didn't get the ball rolling... until 9:15
That's a long time to be standing around with your gear drinking beer when you could be setting up and...checking sound before people arrive.
They offered 3 drink tickets and warned me of a 'sound issue' regarding "phasing in mono"....(not in my control). As for the actual performance, the sound system itself was awful - I highly recommend bringing your own mixer and mics. As for payout...I can't say for sure but I left with more cash then some other bands and I wonder if it was a coincidence that I had a much much smaller comp list then those other bands (i.e. I think they take out for your guestlist). They did nothing for promotion like they said they would on their site but also, come off as expecting YOU to be the draw and not THEIR bar. So for them to say 'We don't want mainstream or top 40 type music...our customers aren't into that..SORRY' makes zero sense, considering they admit their customers are essentially whoever you've brought with you. I'm open to performing there again but it's not at all imperative considering the hassle and effort required (parking is the worst too). Don't blame musicians for your lack of a built-in crowd Comet. Have better drinks and more service and maybe you'll see things change for the better regardless of who's playing. Note, My earnings were slim due to it being a weeknight with lots of other bands to split the door with. Not reflective on the venue necessarily.
