I've had a great time at this venue and an awful time at this venue. FOH sound is usually great. If you book with the in-house bookers for a weekend date you'll do fine, promotion will be done, and you will probably have a great show.
If you book with some freelance "promoter" for an off-night prepare to be effed in the A. They'll make you sell a bunch of tickets and either take all the money and lie about what their expenses are, or simply not let you play due to some silly high-school dispute with a band member.
Nice green room, cool bar staff, good PA. Expensive drinks, but you'll get some drink tickets.

Sound guy was an old prick("I did sound for blah blah blah at this place and that place"). Zero promotional work from the venue even though they said they had it covered. All around pompous Cap Hill BS. Cool to see bands you like on a weekend, but that's true of any venue.

This is a bit of a hole in the wall venue but it's rather standard as far as what to expect when booking a gig on Capitol Hill (or anywhere for that matter). My experience here has been good. Fair % at the door, they let you set up merch no problem, there's a backstage stocked with plenty of water, you get drink tickets and they do well for a built-in crowd actually. If you have a small set up and are more comedic or have a dance-pop quality to your act then this is a great venue to win over. Sound guy was fine, bartender was nice.

I've played here many times a while back (each time saying to myself never again).

Your time is better spent burning your arm with a car lighter than booking anything here at this crap-hole of a venue. One brain cell shared among booker and staff (if that).
Sound can be decent, but you better train and ride the disinterested sound person you will undoubtedly be working with. The patrons who frequent this place have a cumulative IQ of 23 tops.

I do like the room sound I guess.
