I'm in a reggae band, and we played here a few weeks ago. It's a surprisingly good venue considering how intimidating it looks from the outside.
Pros: Payed gig
One band per night
DJ picks up the slack when you're done.
No Cover
Good drink specials
Monitor system is decent
Cons: Sound board is in a separate room.
Sound check is cumbersome
Venue requires you bring your own mics and stands and mic cables.
Air conditioning isn't turned on til right before you start playing.
Overall, this venue is totally worth it, provided you have the mics and cables necessary to make it work.
You will need 35 or 40 foot mic cables to get your mics plugged in, or a wireless.
If the sound board was in the back of the room instead of in a separate room to the side, this would help a lot.
Vocals almost always sound muddy in this place though, but meh....whatever.
